Early College Programs

College Unlimited @ SUNY Potsdam (CUSP)

CUSP is a formal early entrance program targeted at advanced high school students entering their Junior or Senior year, having completed at least 14 academic units, who wish to enter college early. Students may enter either as accelerated graduates who have completed all of their high school graduation requirements early, or as early admission students who wish to complete their remaining high school graduation requirements as a full-time matriculated student at SUNY Potsdam.

College Advancement Program (CAP)

The College offers qualified Junior and Senior high school students the opportunity to enroll in regularly scheduled undergraduate courses for college credit as non-matriculated students with the approval of their home school district. Admission requirements are: a minimum 80.0 grade point average in a Regents/college preparatory curriculum as indicated on an official high school transcript; a letter of recommendation from the high school principal and/or guidance counselor; and completion of the online Student Health Services forms.

College in High School (CHS)

Together with participating high schools, the College offers qualified high school Junior and Senior students the opportunity to enroll as non-matriculated students in approved high school courses and receive SUNY Potsdam college credit for the their satisfactory completion. Exceptional Sophomores may also be considered by submitting a letter of recommendation from their guidance counselor or course instructor. These courses are offered for a reduced fee, which is significantly less than the normal per credit tuition and fee rates. Admission requirements are the same as for the College Advancement Program (see above for details).
