CIS 410 - Computer Networks 3 Credit(s)
Understanding networking and communication protocols with the Internet as prime focus. Central to computer networks are the concepts of layered network architecture, client-server model, HTTP and email protocols, reliable data transfer, congestion control, addressing, forwarding, routing, error detection, MAC protocols, and security. Students will also gain practical experience by tracing packets using Wireshark software and programming some of the concepts.
Prerequisite(s): CIS 205 with a minumum grade of 2.0.
