@MUAI 400 - Legal Aspects of the Music Industry

This course is designed to give students a basic overview of those legal principles and situations which they may encounter in the world of music business. Topics covered include issues involving contracts, copyright, works-for-hire royalties, publishing, digital reproduction, downloading and file sharing of music, internet reproduction, and others as appropriate. In addition to being a required course for Music Business majors and an elective in the Business of Music minor, this course also counts as an elective in the Pre-Law minor. Spring.
