Students will have the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge of the ultrasonic cleaning process of brass and woodwind instruments in a hands-on-setting, including instrument disassembly, Texas flushing, instrument reassembly, proper lubrication, ultrasonic cleaning machine maintenance, and environmental considerations. Through the cleaning process, students will develop skills to repair common maintenance issues associated with instrument disassembly and reassembly, such as stuck parts, dent repair, part alignment, soldering, French horn stringing, valve alignment, and consumables replacement. Crane students only. As warranted.
