ANTH 347 - Humans Disease and Death

Humans, Disease, and Death explores disease from a broadly and explicitly evolutionary perspective. Infectious and chronic diseases have evolutionary origins. As humans have changed their behavior, demography, diet, and social organization, the diseases we are afflicted with have changed also. We will examine what diseases are, what causes them, how we have evolved with diseases, how disease patterns have changed over human history, and we will discuss the future of disease.
