ARTS 349 - Sculpture I 4 Credit(s)
This course introduces the use of sculptural form as a vehicle for a creative expression of personal ideas and contemporary concepts. It examines a variety of traditional as well as modern materials and processes. It emphasizes an awareness of the qualities of materials and how they can be employed to support aesthetic and conceptual objectives. Lectures and visual presentations address historical and theoretical concerns. Regular formal classroom critiques allow student to develop critical thinking skills. Regular formal classroom activities address historical and theoretical concerns and strengthen students’ abilities in aesthetic analysis.
Prerequisite(s): ARTS 110 ,ARTS 120 , and ARTS 130 .
