GRED 690D - School District Leader Internship 6 Credit(s)
This is a required internship experience in school district leadership for candidates in the educational leadership certificate program. Candidates will complete a minimum of 150 required internship hours over the course of a full semester participating in design and execution of district-wide systems for managing change and fostering continuous and innovative school improvement. Selected experiences will apply knowledge and skill of school district leader candidates across the P-12 grade level continuum in leading mission and vision; ethics and professional norms; equity, inclusiveness, and cultural competence; learning and instruction; school board and community external leadership; budget, operations and management; policy development and implementation of educational law; and building professional capacity. Emphasis will be placed upon communicating and working collaboratively with school board, community and external partners, families, and state and federal entities supporting overall student achievement and well-being. A capstone project demonstrates the candidate’s district leader role modeling self-improvement and continuous learning. S*/U* grading only.
