ENVR 304 - Sustainable Agriculture Lecture and active learning activities are designed to investigate topics vital to understanding agriculture sustainability, including issues of: land use, biological diversity, pest control, labor, and human rights economic viability. Field trips to local farms will serve as examples of the various local agroecosystems. The class will document differences between these farms and analyze them for their relative sustainability. Class members will also grow crops themselves to investigate tools for sustainability assessment. Cross listed with BIOL 304 .
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 100 , BIOL 125 , BIOL 151 , BIOL 152 , OR ENVR 110
