Ecology is the scientific study of the relationship between organisms and their environment.  The Adirondack Ecology course utilizes the Adirondack region to illustrate and explore general concepts of ecology, including ecosystem structure and function, energy flow, biogeochemical cycling, and population dynamics.  Natural history and identification of Adirondack plants, animals and ecosystems are incorporated through lecture, field studies and individual projects.
