ANTH 302 - Advanced Forensic Anthropology

3 Credit(s)

This course provides advanced training in forensic anthropology, a specialization within anthropology that applies knowledge of human skeletal biology to problems of medico-legal significance. Building on the work of ANTH295: Introduction to Forensic Anthropology, this course trains students in more advanced techniques for the recovery and analysis of human remains, the estimation of a biological profile (age, sex, ancestry, stature), and the interpretation of skeletal trauma and pathology. Likewise, students will explore more advanced debates surrounding issues both ethical and practical currently affecting the field and the work done by practicing forensic anthropologists.

Prerequisite(s): ANTH 295
