Mathematics Minor

Closed to Mathematics majors.
The mathematics minor consists of 20 hours of which 14 (required) provide a foundation for further study of mathematics in any direction that suits the students’ interests. Six additional hours (elective) give the student the option to add either depth or breadth to her or his mathematical preparation.

Required Courses: 14 Credits
Elective Courses: 6 Credits
Two upper-division courses, one of which must be a 400-level or higher mathematics course. The second elective may be a mathematics course or (subject to approval by the department) may be an upper division course in which mathematics plays a significant role. Such an elective will, in general, have at least one year of calculus as a prerequisite. Note(s)
- Students may count no more than one course taken S/P/U towards the Mathematics minor.
- Students graduating with a Mathematics minor must complete the minor requirements with at least a 2.0/S grade in each course.
