The B.S. in Computer Science Education provides initial certification for students who are seeking careers as computer science educators from elementary through high school. The program of study merges deep content knowledge in computer science with the pedagogical skills necessary to become an excellent educator. The required classes were merged with the College’s general education requirements, thus anchored in a rich core of liberal arts and sciences.

Program Requirements
An overall GPA of 3.0 (or 83 from high school) is required for full admission into the Computer Science Education program.
All Education courses (EDLS & SECD courses) must be completed with a numeric grade of 2.7 or higher, with a minimum 3.0 GPA in the Education major. All required Computer Science courses (CIS courses), HLTH, MATH & PSYC courses must be completed with a grade of 2.0 or higher.
Education courses (EDLS and SECD courses) require a minimum grade of 2.7 or above; therefore, these courses will not satisfy the requirement if students elect the S/P/U grading option. However, an S grade can be used to fulfill major requirements.
Required Courses: 80 Credits
Computer Science Courses: 28 Credits
Education Courses: 47 Credits
Psychology Courses: 6 Credits
Total Credit Hours Required: 80
