The Public Health, M.S. is an online program that prepares students to practice in the field of public health, which serves to enhance health through education, research, and policy. The curriculum fosters development of core public health competencies, training students to plan, implement, and evaluate health initiatives. Through coursework, research, and community engagement, students will acquire the practical skills necessary to work in a local, national, or international entity addressing public health needs.
Program Student Learning Outcomes:
Public Health M.S. students will be able to:
- Design a proposal to address a health disparity incorporating ideas from a socio-ecological perspective that can be used to address the disparity.
- Assess population needs, assets, and capacities that affect public health.
- Select methods to evaluate public health programs.
- Apply epidemiological methods to a public health setting and problem
- Apply principles of leadership, governance and management, which include creatin ga vision, empowering others, fostering collaboration and guiding decision making
