Examines the literary and non-literary texts produced in Europe and America during the Enlightenment period (roughly 1650-1800). Interprets the intellectual developments and discursive innovations in writings by Descartes, Rousseau, Dryden, Pope, Voltaire, Locke, Jefferson, Wollstonecraft, Paine, and others.
Prerequisite(s): LITR 200 or LITR 201 , and LITR 300 .
