SPED 646 - Strategies for Teaching Elementary Students with Learning or Behavioral Disabilities 3 Credit(s)
Discusses selection, development and implementation of appropriate teaching strategies for use with elementary students with mild/moderate disabilities; includes developmental, remedial and compensatory strategies for use in instruction and management, modifications to materials, teaching approaches, and the physical environment, and the use of on-going evaluation procedures for monitoring student progress; develops competencies in the formulation of Individualized Education Programs. A multidisciplinary and inclusive approach to education will be stressed.
Prerequisite(s): SPED 601 and SPED 609 and SPED 637 and SPED 640 and SPED 650 . Advanced Certificate: SPED 601 and SPED 650 . Corequisite(s): SPED 638 and SPED 649 . Advanced Certificate: SPED 640 .
