ARTE 302 - Methods and Materials in Art Education 3 Credit(s)
This course will provide students with instructional methods in the appropriate and safe use of tools, media, materials, and equipment in a K-12 art education setting. Planning art units to meet the needs of all K-12 aged
students that meet New York Arts & Media Arts standards. Students learn to manage an arts based classroom through a community outreach program. This course will also include studio practices, art criticism, community arts education, art history methods, curriculum development and lesson planning. This course will prepare students to teach Visual Arts at the Elementary, Intermediate, and Commencement Levels and will include field experience.
